Pitman Green was formed in 2016 by Steve Gardner, PE and Brian Ferguson, PE, PLS, two engineers and Green County, Kentucky natives. The company is named after Pitman Creek and Green River which hold cultural as well as personal significance for Steve and Brian. Pitman Green is headquartered in Greensburg, KY.
Steve Gardner, a graduate of the University of Kentucky in Agricultural Engineering with a MS in Mining Engineering and Graduate Certificate in Environmental Systems founded ECSI in 1983. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in several states and a Registered Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration where he served as international president in 2015-16. Besides consulting engineering, he has worked as an engineer in both mining and oil and gas pipeline operations, plus been an owner and manager of mining operations in coal and industrial minerals during his career. He has been a member of the UK Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Advisory Board and currently serves on the University of Kentucky’s Mining Engineering Foundation Board and the Kentucky Geological Survey Advisory Board. He was also a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors from 2004 to 2012. He is also a member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
Brian A.N. Ferguson most recently comes from the construction industry, where he served as a Project Engineer for 10 years. Specializing in design build project engineering and land surveying, Brian also coordinated and managed GPS machine control systems used in civil construction operations. Brian is a graduate of Western Kentucky University jointly with the University of Kentucky in Civil Engineering and also a graduate of Green County High School. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Kentucky.
